Paul Shetler joins Stone & Chalk as first Expert-in-Residence
Sydney, 14 June 2017 - Stone & Chalk today announced it has reached an important milestone in its development with the appointment of high profile digital expert Paul Shetler as the fintech hub’s first ever Expert in Residence.
In the role, Paul will bring his global experience, deep insights and expertise gained across three continents in financial services, the public sector, and as a founder of startups, to Stone & Chalk’s partners, residents and the wider fintech ecosystem.

He has worked across a range of industries and has additional specialisation in successfully delivering digital transformation. We are delighted to have someone of his stature join our team and help high growth potential startups in Australia commercialise, scale and go global as well as helping Australian industry successfully embrace digital as the new normal.
“His appointment comes at an exciting juncture in Stone & Chalk’s history. In our first 12 months S&C’s startups raised over $100m of direct equity investment. On the back of that success we are now extending our support to help develop Australia’s domestic cyber security, insurtech, IoT and data science industries,” he said.
Until recently, Paul was the CEO of the Digital Transformation Office and CDO of the Commonwealth's Digital Transformation Agency. Prior to this, he was the Chief Digital Officer for the UK’s Ministry of Justice and he has been a senior executive of the UK’s Government Digital Service where he led a review of 25 exemplars.
As Stone and Chalk’s Expert in Residence, Paul will help bolster the work S&C is doing for startups and corporates and will be primarily focussed on driving two major outcomes:
To assist high growth potential startups successfully commercialise and rapidly scale once in market, and
To help corporates and governments accelerate their existing transformation journeys.
He will also work with organisations who want to design and implement their digital transformation strategies, build leadership capability and transform ICT procurement and improve their program management processes.
